RESUMO

Obesity poses a significant threat to various health conditions such as heart diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart attack, with the gut microbiota playing a crucial role in maintaining the body's energy balance. We identified a novel probiotic fungal strain, Kluyveromyces lactis JSA 18 (K. lactis), which was isolated from yak milk and was found to possess anti-obesity properties. Additionally, Lactobacillus plantarum CGMCC 8198 (LP8198) from our previous study was also included to evaluate its anti-obesity properties. The findings indicated that K. lactis caused a notable reduction in weight gain, liver and fat indexes, and hyperlipidemia in mice fed a high-fat diet (HFD). Administering K. lactis and LP8198 to mice on a high-fat diet resulted in a reduction of serum triglyceride levels. Furthermore, the supplements reduced ALT and AST activity, and inhibited the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1ß. In addition, lipid metabolism was enhanced by the downregulation of ACC1, PPAR-γ, SREBP-1, and Fasn. Moreover, this study found that K. lactis and LP8198 have little effect on gut bacteria. Additionally, K. lactis partially influenced intestinal fungi, while LP8198 had a minor influence on gut mycobiota. The main goal of this research was to show how effective K. lactis can be as a probiotic in combating obesity.

RESUMO

The concentrations of dissolved arsenate in natural water has an important impact on human health. The distributions, seasonal variation and major influencing factors of total dissolved inorganic arsenic (TDIAs) were studied in the Yellow River. The concentrations of TDIAs in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River ranged from 4.3 to 42.4 nmol/L, which met the standards for drinking water of WHO. The seasonal variation of TDIAs concentration in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River was highest in summer, followed by autumn and winter, and lowest in spring. The influencing factors of TDIAs concentration in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River mainly include the hydrological conditions, topographical variation, the adsorption and desorption of suspended particulate matter (SPM) and the intervention of human activities. The absorption of TDIAs by phytoplankton in the Xiaolangdi Reservoir (XLD) is an important factor affecting its distributions and seasonal variation. The annual flux of TDIAs transported from the Yellow River into the Bohai Sea ranged from 1.1 × 105 to 4.5 × 105 mol from 2016 to 2018, which is lower than the flux in 1985 and 2009. The carcinogenic risks (CR) of TDIAs for children and adults were all within acceptable levels (<10-6).

RESUMO

To overcome the difficulty of vascular regeneration in exposed tendon wounds, we combined human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hPMSCs) with an artificial dermal scaffold and assessed their role in promoting vascular regeneration and wound healing in vivo. hPMSCs were isolated from the human placenta and characterized based on their morphology, phenotypic profiles, and pluripotency. New Zealand rabbits were used to establish an exposed tendon wound model, and hPMSCs and artificial dermal scaffolds were transplanted into the wounds. The results of gross wound observations and pathological sections showed that hPMSCs combined with artificial dermal scaffold transplantation increased the vascularization area of the wound, promoted wound healing, and increased the survival rate of autologous skin transplantation. Following artificial dermal scaffold transplantation, hPMSCs accelerated the vascularization of the dermal scaffold, and the number of fibroblasts, collagen fibers, and neovascularization in the dermal scaffold after 1 week were much higher than those in the control group. Immunohistochemical staining further confirmed that the expression of the vascular endothelial cell marker, CD31, was significantly higher in the combined transplantation group than in the dermal scaffold transplantation group. Our findings demonstrated that hPMSCs seeded onto artificial dermal scaffold could facilitate vascularization of the dermal scaffold and improve tendon-exposed wound healing.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The mentalis muscle is a significant component of the lower lip; its injury could impair appearance and function. This study presents a surgical strategy for treating mentalis muscle rupture to restore muscle tension and improve function. METHODS: Medical records and photographs of 2 patients with mentalis muscle rupture were reviewed. After physical examinations, 3-dimensional computed topographies were conducted to evaluate chin appearance further. The surgical strategy was designed according to individual malformations and requests. RESULTS: Both patients injured their mentalis muscles in childhood and presented to our clinic with a concave deformity at the center of the chin and impaired mentalis muscle function. The surgical procedure involved the reconstruction of the mentalis muscle by reassembling the muscle flaps and releasing the scarred soft tissue. Both patients were satisfied with the outcome. CONCLUSIONS: Mentalis muscle rupture requires surgical correction. The study proposes an innovative approach that enables patients to achieve a more harmonious appearance and improve function.

RESUMO

Wounds, especially chronic wounds, have become an important problem that endangers human health. At present, there are many repair methods, and among them combines materials science and biology is one of the important repair methods. This study explored the preparation method, physicochemical properties, biological activity and safety of Platelet-Rich plasma (PRP)-loaded slow-sculpting graphene oxide (GO)/alginate gel, and applied it to acute full-thickness skin defect wounds in rats to observe its role in wound healing. The results show that the slow-sculpting GO/alginate gel has excellent plasticity and is suitable for a variety of irregularly shaped wounds. At the same time, its porous structure and water content can maintain the activity of platelets and their released growth factors in PRP, thereby promoting wound collagen synthesis and angiogenesis to accelerate wound healing. This indicates that the slow-sculpting GO/alginate gel is an excellent loading material for PRP, and the combination of the two may become one of the methods to promote wound repair.

RESUMO

Intensive anthropogenic activities, such as excessive nitrogen input and dam construction, have altered the nitrogen cycle in the global river system. However, the focus on the source, transformation and fate of nitrogen in the Yellow River is still scarce. In this study, the multiple isotopes (δ15N-NO3-, δ18O-NO3-, δ15N-NH4+ and δ15N-PN) were deciphered to explore the nitrogen cycling processes and the driving factors in the thermally stratified cascade reservoirs (Sanmenxia Reservoir: SMXR and Xiaolangdi Reservoir: XLDR) and Lower Yellow River (LYR) during the drainage period of the XLDR. In the SMXR, algal bloom triggered the assimilation process in the upper layer before the SMX Dam, followed by remineralization and subsequent nitrification processes in the lower water layers. The nitrification reaction in the XLDR progressively increased along both longitudinal and vertical directions to the lower layer of the XLD Dam, which was linked to the variation in the water residence time of riverine, transition and lentic zones. The robust nitrification rates in the lower layer of the lentic zone coincided with the substantial depletion of nitrate isotopic composition and enrichment of both δ15N-PN and δ15N-NH4+, indicating the longer water residence time not only promoted the growth of the nitrifying population but also facilitated the remineralization to enhance NH4+ availability. In the LYR, the slight nitrate assimilation, as indicated by nitrate isotopic composition and fractionation models, was the predominant nitrogen transformation process. The Bayesian isotope mixing model results showed that manure and sewage was the dominant nitrate source (50 %) in the middle and lower Yellow River. Notably, the in-reservoir nitrification was a significant nitrate source (27 %) in the XLDR and LYR. Our study deepens the understanding of anthropogenic activities impacting the nitrogen cycle in the river-reservoir system, providing valuable insight into water quality management and nitrogen cycle mechanisms in the Yellow River.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a widely used filler for face contouring and is generally believed to be safe and effective. However, there have been reports of HA-related bone erosion in the chin area without clear scientific data regarding its existence, incidence, and severity. This exploratory study was to evaluate HA-related mental bone resorption through a prospective, controlled, observer-blind, nonrandomized clinical trial and a retrospective cohort study. METHODS: On the one hand, a prospective, controlled, nonrandomized, single-shot HA-injection clinical trial was conducted. Computed tomographic scans were collected at baseline and at 6-12 months of follow-up for both HA-injection and control groups. On the other hand, an updated retrospective cohort study compared the HA-injection with a blank control group. The primary outcomes composed of three quantitative parameters [bone resorption index (BRI M and BRI N ), bone resorption thickness ratio] and one subjective evaluation index (severity ranking). Information about demographics, complications, and injection volume were also recorded. RESULTS: From June 2021 to March 2023, 78 patients were prospectively recruited for the study. There was a significant association between HA-injection and bone resorption [BRI M : pre (84.24±8.10%) vs post (79.21±8.70%), P <0.001; BRI N : pre 92.50% (73, 144%) vs 87.99% (63, 132%), P <0.001; bone thickness ratio: HA 24.08% (0, 48%) vs control 0 (0, 17%), P <0.001]. However, there was no difference in large-volume (>1 ml) and small-volume (≦1 ml) injection subgroups [bone resorption thickness ratio: (21.50±10.91%) vs (24.51±11.92%), P =0.350]. The imaging manifestation revealed discernible bone resorption in 35.90% of the patients, with an median bone resorption thickness ratio of 24.08%. Between October of 2019 and March 2023, 95 HA-injection patients (190 semimandibular cases), 95 normal controls were enrolled. The BRI M was significantly lower in the HA-injection group compared to the controls ( P <0.001). CONCLUSIONS: HA may induce bone resorption in the mentum. Large-scale randomized controlled clinical trial is warranted for further confirmation. Patients should be informed of this potential complication.

RESUMO

Under the dual stress of global warming and human interaction, Liaodong Bay (LDB) and northern Yellow Sea (NYS) are undergoing significant ecological changes. Little is known about the driving nutrients characteristics supporting fishery resource output in these areas. We carried out three field observations in 2019 to investigate nutrient status. Results showed that dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN), dissolved inorganic phosphorus (DIP), and dissolved silica (DSi) concentrations changed seasonally, with lowest values in spring, and highest values in autumn. High DIN, DIP, and DSi concentrations were detected in LDB and NYS's estuary areas. The Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass plays a role in the distribution and seasonal variation of nutrients. Exchanges across the sediment-water interface, SFGD, atmospheric deposition, and the adjacent sea input dominated DIN dynamics of these areas. DIP primarily came from the adjacent sea input and DSi mainly originated from sediment release and the adjacent sea input. NYS seawater invasion accounted for 13.8% of DIN, 63.4% of DIP, and 35.1% of DSi in LDB. These results provide new insights to better facilitate the formulation of nitrogen and phosphorus reduction and control policies in these marginal seas.

RESUMO

To explore the influence of extracellular vesicles secreted by dural cells (Dura-EVs) on osteoblasts. Our methodology involves assessing the effects of these EVs at concentrations of 50ug/ml, 100ug/ml, and 200ug/ml on osteoblasts proliferation, differentiation, migration, osteogenesis, and inhibition of apoptosis. We also treated a cranial defect model with injections of these Dura-EVs and monitored the healing rate of cranial defects. Tissue sections were analyzed using Hematoxylin and Eosin (H & E), Masson's trichrome, and immunofluorescence (IF) staining. Our results suggest that Dura-EVs can enhance osteoblasts proliferation, migration, differentiation, and osteogenesis in a dose-dependent manner in vitro. In vivo, Dura-EVs may promote the repair of skull defects. Dura-EVs have an important influence on osteoblasts, our findings shed light on a novel aspect of the dura mater's contribution to cranial osteogenesis.

RESUMO

Mycoplasma capricolum subsp. capripneumoniae (Mccp) is the cause of contagious caprine pleuropneumonia (CCPP) in goats. Inactivated vaccines and capsular polysaccharide (CPS) indirect hemagglutination reagents are available for prevention and serological detection, but high culture costs and complex antigen quantification have been plagued by production staff. In order to solve these problems in production practice, a sugar fermentation medium with an initial pH value of 7.8, which could improve the production of two antigens simultaneously, was screened out by changing the initial pH value based on previous Mccp metabolomics analysis. Since phenol red can be identified by UV absorption spectrum and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) can bind to anionic capsular polysaccharide, a UV spectrum measurement method for analyzing the culture stage reached by Mccp and a CTAB precipitation test for relative quantification of capsular polysaccharide antigen content in the fermentation broth were established. The UV spectrum observation method can guide the production of Mccp according to the growth curve of Mccp, which greatly reduces the monitoring time of the traditional CCU method and improves the accuracy of the original eye-observation method. The established CTAB precipitation test can complete the monitoring of CPS content within 5 hours, which greatly reduces the time required compared with the traditional differential technique, and its accuracy was verified by the phenol-sulfuric acid method. The optimized culture medium and the two correlation comparison methods established in this study can effectively reduce the production cost of Mccp and improve the production efficiency. The two assays have been used in the research at our laboratory, which provides experimental data for further improvement of the production process of CCPP inactivated vaccine and capsular polysaccharide as well as rapid quantification.

RESUMO

Microsphaeropsis, taxonomically classified within the kingdom fungi, phylum Ascomycota, subphylum Deuteromycotina, class Coelomycetes, order Sphaeropsidales, and family Sphaeropsidaceae, exhibit a ubiquitous distribution across various geographical regions. These fungi are known for their production of secondary metabolites, characterized by both structural novelty and potent biological activity. Consequently, they represent a significant reservoir for the advancement of novel pharmaceuticals. In this paper, a systematic review was present, marking the analysis of secondary metabolites synthesized by Microsphaeropsis reported between 1980 and 2023. A total of 112 compounds, comprising polyketones, macrolides, terpenoids, and nitrogen-containing compounds, were reported from Microsphaeropsis. Remarkably, among these compounds, 49 are novel discoveries, marking a significant contribution to the field. A concise summary of their diverse biological activities was provided, including antibacterial, antitumor, and antiviral properties and other bioactivities. This analysis stands as a valuable reference, poised to guide further investigations into the active natural products derived from Microsphaeropsis and their potential contributions to the development of medicinal resources.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: It remains unknown about the relationship between vertebrobasilar artery (VBA) calcification and plaque instability. We aimed to investigate the characteristics of VBA calcification using vessel wall magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) and its association with acute cerebral infarction (ACI). METHODS: Nine hundred and thirty patients with VBA stenosis who underwent vessel wall MRI and CT examinations were evaluated retrospectively. Calcification morphology was classified as either intimal or non-intimal predominant using a CT-pathology-validated grading method. Qualitative and quantitative plaque MRI variables and calcification characteristics were compared between culprit and non-culprit lesions. The association between VBA calcification and the occurrence of culprit lesions was investigated using multivariate logistic regression. RESULTS: A total of 150 patients with ACI and 142 patients without ACI were eligible for subsequent analyses, respectively. In the qualitative analysis, T1 hyperintensity (p < 0.001) and intimal predominant calcification (p = 0.021) were more frequently observed in the culprit than non-culprit lesions. In the quantitative analyses, culprit lesions had a larger stenosis degree, plaque length, normal wall index, contrast enhancement ratio, lower calcification density and smaller calcification volume than non-culprit lesions (p all < 0.05). Intimal predominant calcification (odds ratio [OR], 2.51; 95 % confident interval [CI], 1.31-4.82, p = 0.006) and calcification density (OR, 0.53; 95 % CI, 0.35-0.78, p = 0.001) were independently associated with the presence of ACI after adjusting for clinical risk factors and plaque variables. CONCLUSIONS: Intimal predominant calcification in vertebrobasilar atherosclerosis is associated with the likelihood of having caused acute cerebral infarction. The morphology and density of VBA calcification may provide insight into stroke risk stratification in the posterior circulation.

RESUMO

Stroke is a highly heterogeneous disorder with distinct subtypes, and the stroke subtype influences the outcome. Amide proton transfer-weighted (APTW) MRI has been demonstrated to be promising in stroke patients, but the image characteristics of stroke subtypes have not been sufficiently investigated. The purpose of this study was to investigate the APTW MRI features of different subtypes of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Ninety-two AIS patients presenting within 96 h of symptom onset were enrolled and examined with a 3.0-T MRI system. Patients were grouped into four subtypes: lacunar circulation infarcts (LACI, n = 33); total anterior circulation infarcts (TACI, n = 9); partial anterior circulation infarcts (PACI, n = 28); and posterior circulation infarcts (POCI, n = 22). APTW values in the lesion (APTWlesion ) and the contralateral normal-appearing region (APTWcontral ) were measured. The change in APTW values between the acute ischemic lesion and the contralateral normal-appearing region (APTWles-con ) was calculated. A two-sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and the Chi-square method were used. There were significant differences between APTWlesion and APTWcontral in the three categories of nonlacunar strokes (TACI, PACI, and POCI, all p < 0.01), but not for lacunar strokes (LACI, p = 0.080). TACI patients had the lowest APTWlesion and APTWles-con in all groups (p < 0.05). In the POCI group, patients with supratentorial infarcts showed significant differences between APTWlesion and APTWcontral (p = 0.001), while the differences were not significant for infratentorial infarcts (p = 0.135). Our results suggest that the APT effect was heterogeneous in different stroke subtypes, and that APTW MRI gave an excellent performence in depicting nonlacunar AIS in supratentorial locations.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Anterolateral thigh (ALT) adipofascial free flap transfer is a frequently used method to reconstruct the facial symmetry and restore facial soft-tissue contour in PRS patients. While its long-term prognosis and patient outcomes assessment are still lack of understanding. METHOD: The authors report their treatment experience in 42 patients between 2001 and 2017 using microsurgical free anterolateral thigh adipofascial flap transfer. The long-term follow-up results and final reconstructive outcomes were evaluated. RESULTS: A total of 42 patients were included. The follow-up ranged from 5 to 21 years. All patients were satisfied with the surgery. Photographic evaluation revealed significant enhancement of postoperative appearance. Numbness or hypesthesia of the local area was the most common symptom in the long-term follow up. CONCLUSION: This study has evaluated the long-term treatment results of Parry-Romberg disease with microsurgery using ALT free flap in our department. Over 20 years' experience and the significant enhancement of the overall appearance indicate a long-lasting, excellent outcome.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Two of the most lethal gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, gastric cancer (GC) and colon cancer (CC), are ranked in the top five cancers that cause deaths worldwide. Most GI cancer deaths can be reduced by earlier detection and more appropriate medical treatment. Unlike the current "gold standard" techniques, non-invasive and highly sensitive screening tests are required for GI cancer diagnosis. Here, we explored the potential of metabolomics for GI cancer detection and the classification of tissue-of-origin, and even the prognosis management. METHODS: Plasma samples from 37 gastric cancer (GC), 17 colon cancer (CC), and 27 non-cancer (NC) patients were prepared for metabolomics and lipidomics analysis by three MS-based platforms. Univariate, multivariate, and clustering analyses were used for selecting significant metabolic features. ROC curve analysis was based on a series of different binary classifications as well as the true-positive rate (sensitivity) and the false-positive rate (1-specificity). RESULTS: GI cancers exhibited obvious metabolic perturbation compared with benign diseases. The differentiated metabolites of gastric cancer (GC) and colon cancer (CC) were targeted to same pathways but with different degrees of cellular metabolism reprogramming. The cancer-specific metabolites distinguished the malignant and benign, and classified the cancer types. We also applied this test to before- and after-surgery samples, wherein surgical resection significantly altered the blood-metabolic patterns. There were 15 metabolites significantly altered in GC and CC patients who underwent surgical treatment, and partly returned to normal conditions. CONCLUSION: Blood-based metabolomics analysis is an efficient strategy for GI cancer screening, especially for malignant and benign diagnoses. The cancer-specific metabolic patterns process the potential for classifying tissue-of-origin in multi-cancer screening. Besides, the circulating metabolites for prognosis management of GI cancer is a promising area of research.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Pancreatic cancer (PC) is an aggressive malignancy with poor prognosis. Accumulating studies have showed that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is a crucial regulator in various tumorigenesis and progression including PC. This research aims to explore the roles and molecular mechanism of lncRNA cancer susceptibility candidate 9 (CASC9) in PC. METHODS: The expression levels of lncRNA CASC9 and miR-497-5p were evaluated in PC tissues and paired adjacent healthy tissues by quantitative real-time PCR. PC cell lines were transfected with lentivirus targeting lncRNA CASC9, and cells proliferation, migration and invasion tests were conducted. Dual luciferase reporter assays were also carried out to explore the relationship between lncRNA CASC9, miR-497-5p and Cyclin D1 (CCND1). RESULTS: LncRNA CASC9 was significantly up-regulated in PC tissues, while miR-497-5p expression was down-regulated. Down-regulation of lncRNA CASC9 in PC cells can significantly suppress the cell aggressiveness both in vitro and in vivo; moreover, knock-down of miR-497-5p could neutralize this impact. Additionally, the luciferase activity assay has assured that CCND1 was a downstream target of miR-497-5p. CONCLUSION: LncRNA CASC9 can promote the PC progression by modulating miR-497-5p/CCND1 axis, which is potential target for PC treatment.

RESUMO

Biomarkers offer unique insights into the state of the environment, but little is known about how they interact with microbial communities in the open ocean. This study investigated the correlative effects between microbial communities and n-alkane distribution in surface seawater and sediments from the Kuroshio Extension in the Northwest Pacific Ocean. The n-alkanes in both surface seawater and surface sediments were mostly derived from algae and higher plants, with some minor contributions from anthropogenic and biological sources. The composition of microbial communities in surface seawater and sediments was different. In surface seawater, the dominant taxa were Vibrio, Alteromonas, Clade_Ia, Pseudoalteromonas, and Synechococcus_CC9902, while the taxa in the sediments were mostly unclassified. These variations/fluctuations of n-alkanes in three areas caused the aggregation of specialized microbial communities (Alteromonas). As the characteristic composition indexes of two typical n-alkanes, Short-chain n-alkane carbon preference index (CPI-L) and long-chain n-alkane carbon preference index (CPI-H) significantly influenced the microbial community structure in surface seawater, but not in surface sediments. Effect of CPI on microbial communities may be attributed to anthropogenic inputs or petroleum pollution. The abundance of hydrocarbon degradation genes also varied across the three different areas. Our work underscores that n-alkanes in the oceans alter the microbial community structure and enrich associated degradation genes. The functional differences in microbial communities within different areas contribute to their ecological uniqueness.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) has been used to stimulate the healing of the fresh fracture, delayed union, and non-union in both animal and clinical studies. Besides, biphasic calcium phosphate ceramic (BCP) is a promising biomaterial for bone repair as it shows favorable biocompatibility, osteoinduction, and osteoconduction. However, scarcity is known about the combined effect of LIPUS and BCP on bone formation. METHODS: The combined effect of LIPUS and BCP was studied in a beagle model. Twelve dogs were used. BCP granules without any additions were implanted into bilateral erector spinae muscles. One side is the BCP group, while the counterlateral side is LIPUS + BCP group. Histological and histomorphometric analyses, and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction were evaluated. RESULTS: Compared with BCP alone, the LIPUS + BCP showed no advantages in early bone formation. Furthermore, the Notch signaling pathway-related mRNA has no significant difference between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS: The preliminary results showed that the BCP, which has intrinsic osteoinduction nature, was an effective and promising material. However, LIPUS has no enhanced effect in BCP induced ectopic bone formation. Furthermore, LIPUS has no effect on the Notch signaling pathway. Whether costly LIPUS could be used in combination with BCP should be a rethink.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: There are two minimally invasive ways of treating cholecystolithiasis combined with choledocholithiasis, but there remains some controversy regarding which technique is better, since they both have advantages and disadvantages. The one-step method involves laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic common bile duct exploration, and primary close (LC + LCBDE + PC), while the two-step procedure consists of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, endoscopic sphincterotomy, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy (ERCP + EST + LC). OBJECTIVE: This multicenter retrospective study aimed to analyze and compare the effects of the two techniques. METHODS: The data of patients who underwent either one-step LCBDE + LC + PC or two-step ERCP + EST + LC treatment for gallstones in the gallbladder and bile duct at the Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital, Shanghai Tongren Hospital, and Taizhou Fourth People's Hospital between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2019 were collected, and the preoperative indicators of the two groups were compared. RESULTS: The surgical success rate of the one-step laparoscopic group was 96.23% (664/690), the transit abdominal opening rate was 2.03% (14/690), and there were 21 cases of postoperative bile leakage. The success rate of the two-step endolaparoscopic surgery was 78.95% (225/285), the transit opening rate was 2.46% (7/285), and there were 43 postoperative cases of pancreatitis and five of cholangitis. Postoperative cholangitis, pancreatitis, postoperative stone recurrence, postoperative hospitalization, and treatment costs were significantly lower (P< 0.05) in the one-step laparoscopic group than in the two-step endolaparoscopic group. However, the amount of intraoperative bleeding, the postoperative extraction time of the abdominal drainage tube, and the incidence of bile leakage were higher (P< 0.05) in the one-step laparoscopic group than in the two-step endolaparoscopic group. CONCLUSION: The two methods of treating choledocholithiasis combined with choledocholithiasis that were analyzed in this study were safe and effective, and each method had its own advantages.
